QUEENSLAND RAIL

The Challenge: Queensland Rail needed to implement a new ERP system to support 3500 users performing more than 300 processes, without impacting on rail operations or day-today business. The project included a large technical infrastructure implementation, as well as significant business change due to process standardisation and a quantum shift in the organisation’s business model

The Solution: Queensland Rail chose SAP R3 as their ERP solution. Information Professionals consultants provided program management and project services over the four year life of the project, managed the project from initiation and project approval to post-go-live support, handover and closure.

The Outcome: Despite considerable technical, geographical, and organisational challanges, the project was delivered on time and within budget and is widely recognised as one of the most successful ERP implementation projects in Australia. In recognition of this, the project received an Award for Excellence from the Australian Institute of Project Management in 2004.
